BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following a dominating showing at the Falcon Classic, the Mississippi State women's cross country team finished an impressive 12th at the prestigious Paul Short Run.

Junior Shannon Fair led the way for MSU with a time of 20:06 to nab an eighth-place finish. The Augusta, Ga., native now has two Top 10 finishes in as many meets this season.

"Shannon had a great race. It was really good to see her run with that kind of confidence," MSU Houston Franks said.
Â
The underclassman duo of Stephanie Peterson and Lisa Oed joined Fair in the top 60. Peterson ran a 20:51 and finished 51st. Oed placed 57th with a time of 20:54.

Sophomore Kristy Terp finished 130th with a time of 21:31, followed by Emma Tucker (21:39) in 145th, Katherine Badham (22:17) in 208th and Audrey Honiotes (22:21) in 215th.

The MSU men placed 37th with Stephen Jones leading the charge with a 58th place finish and a time of 24:29.
Â
Joining Jones in the top 200, JT Mackay ran a 25:17 to finish in 171 place.

Senior Aaron Phelps finished 207th after running a time of 25:30, followed by Eryk Yunk (25:52) in 242, Luke Zacharias (25:56) in 249th, Caden Foos (26:00) in 253rd and Ben Craw (26:14) in 264th place.

"We had a lot of young guys and girls run some big personal bests and that is exciting, but we have a long way still to go to be where we want to be at the end of the year, and we will be back to grind this coming week," Franks said.

The Maroon and White return to SEC country on Oct. 13th for the Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
