Gator Ranked+1 Final Results Crimson Tide Four-In-The-Fall Final Results

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A tremendous weekend that included three-straight ranked wins for Mississippi State's Giovanni Oradini came to a close on Sunday.

The sophomore finished the Gator Ranked+1 in the runner-up spot of the Orange draw after dropping a hard-fought 6-4, 6-7, 6-1 decision in the final round to Florida's Duarte Vale, who is ranked ninth in the Oracle ITA Freshman-Newcomer Rankings.

MSU coach Matt Roberts was excited about the progress his players made during the weekend before moving ahead to the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.

"Overall this was a perfect weekend for what we needed," Roberts said. "Every player was pushed at a high level and our toughness was evaluated. I'm so proud of how we represented in our first weekend of the fall and we look forward to Tulsa to apply what we learned."

Also in the Orange draw Sunday, State's No. 67 Strahinja Rakic dropped a tough 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 battle against Tulane's Tyler Schick in a consolation match.

In the Blue draw, MSU junior Niclas Braun capped off his weekend with his first ranked victory of the fall, downing 80th-ranked Aleks Kovacevic of Illinois 7-6(3), 6-1.

Crimson Tide Four-In-The-Fall

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Florian Broska and Trevor Foshey also capped off a successful weekend at the Crimson Tide Four-In-The-Fall, both finishing third in the Crimson and Houndstooth singles draws, respectively.

Broska finished up his first weekend of play representing the Bulldogs with a 6-2, 6-4 win against Florida State's Jose Gracia.

Foshey also earned a win in his final match of the weekend, downing James Davis of Oklahoma 6-0, 6-4.

Up Next For MSU

After completing play in Gainesville and Tuscaloosa, the Bulldogs will set their sights on the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. Second-ranked Nuno Borges and six other Bulldogs will compete in the event, with pre-qualifying play beginning on Sept. 30 and the main draw running from Oct. 5-9.
