STARKVILLE, Miss. – With 21 practices completed, Mississippi State coach David McFatrich feels the team has shown great energy, while improving at the same time.
The Bulldogs have been through rigorous conditioning and practice sessions, and McFatrich feels the team is headed in the right direction.
"I'm very pleased with the work that the entire team put in this preseason. We made a lot of progress in many areas," the third-year coach said. "We have some situational things on offense to work out, and we've got to get better on some connections, but I like the way were headed."
Libero/defensive specialist Payton Harris is working on new ball control techniques while being a team leader to many of the nine new faces on the court. The Texas native has played in 31 games, collecting 46 assists, 23.0 points, 19 aces and four kills her junior season.
Wednesday, the Bulldogs enjoyed their much-deserved day off as the ladies prepare for the continuation of preseason practice before the traveling to Dallas to face SMU on Friday, August 25 at the SMU Doubletree Tournament.
"I'm really looking forward to getting back at it (Thursday) after giving them a much-needed day off," McFatrich said.
