- All-American Brent Rooker became the 14th MSU player drafted in the first round of the MLB Draft as the Minnesota Twins selected him with the 35th overall pick of this year's draft. First Team All-SEC shortstop Ryan Gridley was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 11th round and signed, while seniors Cody Brown (New York Yankees) and Josh Lovelady (Kansas City Royals) both signed as free agents.
- Brandon Woodruff became the 58th Bulldog to reach the MLB after being called up on June 13 by the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers' 2016 Minor League Player of the Year was scratched for his first start and was placed on the 10-Day DL (hamstring).
- Jacob Robson and Nathaniel Lowe participated as teammates in the Midwest League All-Star game, both representing the Mideast Division. In 2017, Robson is batting .327 with 10 doubles and 27 RBIs, while Lowe is hitting .285 with four homers and 34 RBIs.
- Adam Frazier went 3 for 5 with two doubles and two runs scored for the Pirates last night. On the season, Frazier is batting .289 with 10 doubles and 25 RBIs.
- In his rookie season with the San Diego Padres, Hunter Renfroe has slugged 15 homers and driven in 35 runners over 69 games.
