STARKVILLE, Miss. – For the final road tournament of the season, the Mississippi State men's golf team travels to the shadow of the Alamo to play in the Lone Star Invitational.
The two-day, 54-hole event begins Monday at the par-72 Briggs Ranch Golf Club in San Antonio, Texas. MSU is set to tee off at 8:30 a.m. CT.
"This is a big tournament for us to get some positive momentum going," MSU coach Clay Homan said. "With only three tournaments left, it's important for us to rise to the occasion and play our best golf."
The 15-team field features Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Illinois, Little Rock, Louisiana-Lafayette, McNeese State, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Oklahoma, Rice, Southeastern Louisiana, Texas State, UTEP and host UTSA.
Coming off a career tournament at the Tiger Invitational, Taylor Grant headlines a Bulldog lineup that includes Peng Pichaikool, Ross Bell, Jackson Dick and Austin Rose.
"I expect the scoring conditions to be favorable with the warm, dry conditions," Homan said. "I'm excited to see what we can do this week."
