STARKVILLE, Miss. – It was another beautiful day for track as Mississippi State moved over to day two of the Bulldog Relays.

After winning six events Friday, the Bulldogs won another six events Saturday and set a new school record in the process.

The women's 4x800 team of Alon Lewis, Emma Tucker, Rhianwedd Price and Ffion Price broke a decade-old mark by posting a time of 8:45.80. MSU also grabbed a first-place finish in the 4x400m relay.

On the men's side, Willie Reed set a new personal best in his long jump win. Reed leapt 7.65m in a victory. The men's team also swept the 4x400m and 4x800m relays.

2016 national champion Curtis Thompson made his 2017 debut, finishing second overall and first among attached runners at the event. Thompson tossed 70.86m, while his teammate Nicolas Quijera made his Bulldog debut and grabbed third place with a throw of 70.30m.

"This was a great weekend for our program," MSU coach Steve Dudley said. "This is always the weekend we look forward to the most every season, because we love getting the chance to perform in front of our fans. We had several great performances, and grabbed another school record. That is what we hope to accomplish every time out, and this is a good starting for us heading into the rest of the outdoor season."
