MSU Women’s Tennis Hits Road For Georgia State Saturday
February 24, 2017 | Women's Tennis
STARKVILLE, Miss. – To close out 2017 non-conference play, the Mississippi State women's tennis team (6-1) travels to Atlanta to face Georgia State (4-3) at Piedmont Park Saturday. Match time is set for 1 p.m. CT.
The Bulldogs are looking to extend a four-match win streak after defeating the Minnesota Golden Gophers 5-2 on Wednesday.
True freshmen Lisa Marie Rioux and Sara Lizariturry look to keep their dual-match records spotless as both sport undefeated records (6-0 and 4-0, respectively) in their initial campaigns as Bulldogs.
The rookie Rioux pairs up with senior Jasmine Lee to comprise the nation's eighth-ranked doubles tandem. The duo has posted a 6-1 dual match record at the No. 1 position and are 14-2 overall.
On the singles side, State's All-American Lee, ranked No. 73 at present, leads the team at the No. 1 position with a 6-1 record. Sophomore Anastasia Rentouli posted her fourth dual match victory of the season on Wednesday, while junior Madison Harrison notched her third one. Junior Jennifer Brown rounds out the lineup for the Bulldogs.
Georgia State enters Saturday's contest on its own four-match winning streak, with two coming by shutouts. The Panthers rally behind Arina Taluyenko and Kristin Rehse, as the two have combined for a 10-0 record in singles matches this year.

State will host Auburn (March 3 – 3 p.m.) and Alabama (March 5 – 1 p.m.) to open this spring's Southeastern Conference action.
