DMR Caps Regular Season With Second School Record
February 18, 2017 | Track & Field
South Bend, Ind. – With the indoor regular season in the books, Mississippi State squeezed in one more school record before postseason action begins in Nashville next week.
MSU gave the majority of the team the week off, sending just a women's DMR squad and men's 4x400 squad to Notre Dame for the Alex Wilson Invite.
For the second time this season, the women's DMR team of Ffion Price, Alon Lewis, Charlotte Cayton-Smith and Rhianwedd Price set a school record, this time clocking in at 11:06.32, shaving four seconds off their previous best mark set in Boston earlier this month.
The men's 4x400m relay group of Juston Waters, Philip Smith, Stephan James and Rasheed Tatham also had a great performance up north, running a time of 3:06.07 which is the second best mark in MSU history.
"This was a great way for us to close out the indoor regular season," MSU coach Steve Dudley said. "This is exactly what we wanted these two groups to do, and we knew they were capable of putting forth this type of performance. We are excited about the opportunities that are ahead of us with SEC's and beyond."
