STARKVILLE, Miss. – At one of the toughest meets of the season, the No. 29 Mississippi State women captured eighth-place in the 36-team field of the Griak Invitational Saturday afternoon, finishing ahead of two nationally-ranked teams.

The Bulldogs collected 225 points in the in the 6K event, with five athletes placing inside the Top 100. Senior All-American Rhianwedd Price once again paced the Maroon and White, finishing 22^nd overall with a time of 22:22. Sophomore Shannon Fair finished just behind Price in 31^st place, completing the race in 22:32. In her season-debut, Ffion Price placed 35^th with a time of 22:35. Freshman Stephanie Peterson checked in with a time of 23:00 to place 65^thover all and 16^th among all freshmen at the event.

As a team, MSU finished higher than No. 17 Iowa State and No. 25 Minnesota.

The MSU men also competed in the Griak Invitational, running in the 8K event with a 29^th-place finish. Freshman Stephen Jones led the way for the Bulldogs, placing 152nd overall with a time of 27:26. Junior Aaron Phelps came in just behind Jones at 166 with a time of 27:42.
