
MSU Pitcher Brooks Dunn Earns First-Team Academic All-District Honors

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State senior pitcher Brooks Dunn has been named to the 11-player ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VI baseball team announced Thursday by the College Sports InformationDirectors of America.
Dunn, a senior from Birmingham, Ala., is the lead pitcher on Mississippi State's mound staff. The MSU southpaw, set to start against No. 7 Kentucky Friday night in Lexington, Ky., owns an 8-4 record with a 4.12 earned run average and has registered back-to-back complete-game pitching performances in his last two outings. A three-time SEC Baseball Academic Honor Roll selection, Dunn is a kinesiology major with a 3.77 cumulative grade point average.
The first-team all-district honorees from all seven CoSIDA districts will be on the ballot for the 2006 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American baseball team to be chosen next week.
