STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Mississippi State University has signed Kelly Willinger of Louisville, Ky., to a national letter of intent, MSU volleyball coach Brenda Bowlin announced.
Willinger is a 6-2 rightside hitter from Louisville's Mercy High School, where she was a two-year letter-winner playing for coach Ken Garvey. She totaled 76 kills and 34 blocks as a senior, helping lead MHS to a 28-4 record.
"We're looking forward to Kelly's joining the Mississippi State volleyball program this fall," said MSU head coach. "She possesses the size and athletic ability that will enable her to work quickly into our rightside offense."
The MSU signee played club volleyball for coach DeeDee Olmstead's Derby City team last year, and was a six-year member of the KIVA club volleyball team.
She is the daughter of Robert and Joan Willinger of Louisville.
