Volleyball Bulldogs Ink Texas All- State Standout Katy Barnett

"We are excited that Katy will be continuing her athletic and academic careers at Mississippi State University," said MSU coach Brenda Bowlin. "Katy competed successfully in strong high school and club programs in Texas, and that experience will enable her to contribute very early in her collegiate career."
She is a three-time all-district and academic all-district performer and two-time all-city standout. During her senior season last fall Barnett set a school record with 24 digs in a match and tied another school mark with eight service aces in a game. She currently competes for the Alamo Volleyball Club.
The MSU signee is a member of the National Honor Society and the recipient of the Ranger Scholar Award and the Gatorade Will to Win Award. She is the daughter of Debbie and Rick Barnett of San Antonio, Texas.
