
Bulldogs Conclude Day One AT NCAA Indoor Championships

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Representing Mississippi State at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, senior Alfred Larry competed in the 400m dash Friday night at the Birmingham CrossPlex .
Clocking a time of 46.64, the sprinter recorded a ninth-place finish in the prelims, concluding his indoor season in the event. With the first time out in the event Larry finished fourth in his heat, fighting the entire way. Larry's best time in the event came earlier this season at the Alex Wilson Invite with a time of 46.13.
“Things did not go the way we wanted tonight, but there is still tomorrow,” MSU coach Steve Dudley. “Alfred has worked hard all season and its great having him here representing the team. We're going to be ready to come in here and compete tomorrow night.”
Larry will be back on the track at the championships tomorrow along with Juston Waters, Brandon McBride and Rasheed Tatham taking on the 4x400m relay at 6:40 p.m. CT. The foursome's fastest time in the event is 3:06.69 ran earlier this season at the Alex Wilson Invite. Their time ranks second in school history.
