Rougetet, Rifflart and Jemeli Named To All-SEC Teams
May 19, 2026 | Track & Field
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Three Mississippi State track and field athletes were named to All-SEC teams, announced by the conference this afternoon.
Marie Rougetet and Sacha Rifflart earned All-SEC first team honors, and Nelly Jemeli earned third team honors. These selections were based on their performances at the SEC Outdoor Championships, held last weekend.
Rougetet earned her first SEC title and second SEC medal in the hammer throw last Thursday. Her fifth-round throw of 69.25m won her conference title, making her the first hammer champion for MSU and the first SEC outdoor champion since 2018.
A key part in the program's success this season, Rougetet shattered the program record earlier this season. She held the SEC lead in the hammer and has remained in the top four nationally in the event throughout the season.
Rifflart made his outdoor conference debut in a big fashion, bringing home the first decathlon gold medal for State in program history. His score of 7,507 points is the fourth highest in program history.
Rifflart was dominant throughout all ten events of the decathlon, winning six over the course of two days. At the end of day two, the senior won the event with over a 500-point margin between gold and silver.
Jemeli secured bronze in the 3000m steeplechase, running a new program record of 9:47.10. Her performance is a two-place improvement from last year's championships, where she finished fifth in the same event.
A fixture on the track for MSU, Jemeli holds three program records in the distance races. Jemeli has been in the top ten nationally and top five in the SEC in the steeplechase over the course of the season.
