
No. 21 Baseball Welcomes No. 10 Oregon To Town For Three-Game Set

The Bulldogs begin their first true three-game series of the year Friday at 6:30 p.m., followed by a Saturday contest at 2 p.m. Due to travel restraints, Sunday's game has been moved up to 10:30 a.m.
Oregon won the only head-to-head meeting between the two programs, 6-5, in 1968.

- Mississippi State and Oregon are playing each other for the second time in history, with the first meeting resulting in a 6-5 Ducks win March 22, 1968, in the National Collegiate Tournament in Riverside, California.
- Bulldog slugger Jack Kruger played 28 games (17 starts) as a true freshman at Oregon in 2014 before transferring to MSU after a one-year stop at Orange Coast College in California.
- Kruger leads the NCAA with nine doubles and ranks in the top-20 nationally in total bases (41, 8th), hits (23, 10th), RBIs (18, 16th) and slugging percentage (.854, 17th).
- Kruger and teammate Jacob Robson have reached base safely in all 13 games this season.
- Robson, MSU's leadoff hitter, is second in the NCAA with an SEC-leading 16 walks and is 14th nationally with eight stolen bases in as many attempts.
- The Maroon and White are a perfect 9-0 when holding a lead after the sixth inning but 0-3-1 when trailing or tied after six.
- State is 6-0 when scoring first and 4-0-1 when scoring in the first inning.
- The Diamond Dawgs have outscored their opponents 32-6 in the first two innings and 12-2 from the eighth inning on.
