COLUMBIA, Mo. – Closing out a two-match road trip, the Mississippi State Bulldogs (12-13, 4-7 SEC) fell in three sets to the Missouri Tigers (19-4, 10-1 SEC) Sunday afternoon at the Hearnes Center.
After a rough first set, the Bulldogs went toe-to-toe with the Tigers in the next two sets. However, State could not find its groove as the Tigers went on to earn the sweep.
State held a 12-9 lead in the second set after reeling off a 4-0 run and looked in control of the match. Missouri fired back with a series of mini runs tie the contest at 15-15 and then pushed in front behind a 6-2 streak, eventually securing a 25-20 second set win.
The Dogs showed fight early in the final set, but again fell victim to Missouri runs, as the Tigers took the final set 25-19 to seal the sweep.
"We had a rough go of it in the first set, but showed a lot of fight over the next two," MSU coach David McFatrich said. "Unfortunately we weren't able to capitalize when we needed to get the wins. Now we have to get back to work for next weekend."

The Dogs were held to their lowest blocking total of the season with 2, as Katie Nicholson and Emily Hill teamed up for the pair of denials in the first set.
