Ramey Cards 75 In NCAA Regional Final Round To Wrap Stellar Season
May 19, 2012 | Men's Golf
ATHENS, Ga. - Chad Ramey's All-SEC season came to a close Saturday afternoon, as the sensational sophomore carded a 75 in the final day of action at the Athens Regional.
Ramey fell short in his attempt to qualify for the championship round, capping a season that saw him become the first Bulldog since 2000 to earn All-SEC honors.
Ramey turned in an 8-over par 221 at the 7,253-yard University of Georgia Golf Course to finish the weekend tied for 45th place with five other golfers.
Both of Mississippi State's golf programs sent an individual to postseason play in 2012. Ramey earned the nod after Lady Bulldog and fellow Fulton, Miss., native Ally McDonald qualified for individual action in the West Regional.
Ramey was the first Bulldog to earn since Joe Deraney in 2005 to earn an individual postseason berth.
