
Bogaerts Advances To Second Round At USTA Pensacola Futures

PENSACOLA, Fla. - With a fourth-consecutive, straight-set victory at the USTA Pensacola Futures, Mississippi State freshman Romain Bogaerts advanced to the second round of main draw play Wednesday.
MSU's Bogaerts only gave up seven games against Oleg Dmitriev, defeating the Russia native 6-4, 6-3 to advance to second round of play at the tournament. Bogaerts now needs four more victories to win the Pensacola Futures tourney.
Bulldog freshmen Pedro Dumont and Jordan Angus also competed in first round competition, but were unable to advance to the second round. Dumont dropped his match to Denis Nevolo 6-1, 6-1, while Angus fell to fourth seed Chase Buchanan 6-3, 6-0.
In doubles action, State's Angus and Dumont fell to Sekou Bangoura and former MSU All-American Artem Ilyushin in a tight three-set battle 4-6, 6-3, 1-0(8).
