State Women's Tennis Team Concludes Day Two Of SEC Coaches' Classic

Six of the seven Lady Bulldogs saw consolation action on the second day of the tournament. In Flight 1B, State junior Olesya Tsigvintseva battled Rachael Dillon of Vanderbilt strong but was outlasted 7-6, 6-3. Lady Bulldog junior Mariia Ryzhova was defeated by Kentucky's Jessica Stiles 6-3, 6-3 in Flight 2B. MSU's Danielle Terpko dropped a close first set to Madeleine Saari-Bystrom of South Carolina before finally falling 6-4, 6-0.
Jordan Zachary, Roseline Dion and Elizabeth Hall also fell in straight sets in their respective matches. Hall had a solid effort for the second straight day in Flight 5B, succumbing to Tennessee's Kayla McMurry 7-5, 6-3.
In doubles play, which concluded Saturday, the Lady Bulldog duo of Tsigvintseva and Terpko was defeated by Auburn's tandem of Paulina Schippers and Emily Newton 8-5 in Flight 2. In Flight 3, the MSU pair of Zachary and Hall was defeated by Ole Miss' duo of Laura van de Stroet and Vivian Vlaar 8-3. State's freshman tandem of Pietraroia and Dion was ousted 8-2 by LSU's duo of Whitney Wolf and Yvette Vlaar, in Flight 4.
Play in the tournament will comclude Sunday with the final round of singles play.
