MSU Women's Tennis Completes Day Two Of Fall Tournament

The Lady Bulldogs had three girls active in consolation play with Mississippi-native Jordan Zachary picking up a victory in the first round of consolation, 3-6, 6-3, 1-0(8), over Morgan Bechtel of FLGC. Also playing were Vivian Pietraroia and Mariia Ryzhova who each dropped two-set bouts.
In second round singles consolation play, Mississippi-native Elizabeth Hall dropped a two-set decision , 6-0, 6-1, to Iris Rendon of FLGC, but State's Zachary advanced further with in her second round match with a two-set win over Leyla Simmons of Oklahoma State, 6-4, 7-6(7).
In doubles play, the Lady Bulldogs were active in a pair of quarterfinals matches. MSU's tandem of Pietraroia and Zachary dropped an 8-2 decision to Oklahoma State's Natalia Shatkouskaya and Kanyapat Narattana. Ryzhova and Danielle Terpko fell to Karolina Filipak and Aya Bara of Baylor, 8-1.
The Lady Bulldogs will resume tournament action on Sunday and results will be made available at www.mstateathletics.com.
