
MSU Completes First Day At UNCG Bridgestone Championship

The Bulldogs shot an even-par 576 after two rounds of action on the opening day of the tournament, but a record-setting round of 268 in the second round by the leading North Carolina Tarheels, followed by runner-up Michigan who is 22-under-par, third place Virginia Tech at 19-under-par, ninth-ranked Auburn at 16-under-par and in fourth place, UNCG and Charlotte at 12-under-par and in a tie for fifth place, seventh place Northwestern at 9-under-par and eighth place Toledo at 1-under-par has MSU in a tie for ninth with Minnesota.
State was led on the opening day by true freshman Chad Ramey who was 1-under-par and is in a tie for 25th place among the individual field, while firing consistent rounds of 72-71.
Three Bulldogs are in a tie for 42nd with junior Lee Heaton, sophomore Brad Mason and true freshman Axel Boasson all 1-over-par after two rounds of action.
Sophomore Mike Genovese rounds out MSU's lineup with a two-round score of 154.
