Serving as a volunteer assistant coach for Mississippi State Women's Tennis is Pat Harrison, a veteran of both the college and professional tennis ranks.
Coaching Career
Harrison began his career coaching privately for 15 years as the Head Pro at Shreveport Country Club and Pierremont Oaks Tennis Club. After moving to New Braunfels, Texas, in 2004, he became the on-court Director of Junior Development at the John Newcombe Tennis Academy. In 2008 Pat moved to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, where he is currently in charge of top touring pro tennis players. He coaches all three of his children as well as coaching and helping other top pros including Michael Venus, Heather Watson, Madison Brengle, and many other top 100 ATP and WTA players. Pat became a Grand Slam coach when his player, Heather Watson, won the Mixed Doubles title at Wimbledon. In June 2017, he became a Grand Slam champion coach for the third time when his son, Ryan, and Michael Venus won the Men's Doubles title at the French Open.

Playing Career
Pat started his college career at Ole Miss where he played #1 his freshman and sophomore years. He then transferred to Oklahoma State for his junior and senior years where he helped the Cowboys win the Big Eight Conference Championship both years. He played #1 and #2 singles and won conference individual champion crowns in singles and doubles his senior year. He competed individually in the ITA All American and NCAA Championships in singles and doubles both years while at OSU. After college, he played on the professional tour for two years.

Harrison was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, and is married to Susie. They have three children - sons Ryan and Christian who are both professional tennis players, and Madison, a senior on the MSU women's tennis team in 2017-18.
