"I am very excited and proud to be a part of the Bulldog family and to work with such a great staff," Steinbock said. "Coach Greenan is a very well-known and knowledgeable coach and has proven himself and his teams over the past few years. These young ladies have a lot of talent so I am anxious to see what the future holds for Lady Bulldog tennis."
Steinbock comes to Mississippi State after serving two years as the Associate Head Women's Tennis Coach at Wichita State University. During her stint at Wichita State, Steinbock assisted in guiding the Shockers to back-to-back NCAA Championship appearances, as well as the 2009-10 MVC regular season and conference tournament championships. Steinbock was also named 2009 MVC Assistant Coach of the Year.
Prior to her stint at Wichita State, Steinbock spent some time in the PAC-10 as the Assistant Women's Tennis Coach at Washington State University from 2006-08. For the first time since 2002, she helped the Cougars to an NCAA appearance in 2008 and their highest national ranking of 37th.
As a player at the University of Kansas, Steinbock played at the number one singles position, number one doubles position, and won two team MVP honors during her career. During her four years at Kansas, she was named to the Big XII First Team All-Conference Team in 2003 and twice named All-Big XII. She was the team's SAAC Representative in 2002-03, and was recognized as a Jayhawk Scholar in 2002 and 2004. She graduated from KU in 2005.
"We are very excited to have Courtney on board with our Bulldog Tennis Program," Greenan said. "She brings a passion for the sport and plenty of knowledge, experience and enthusiasm. Our players will benefit tremendously from her leadership and I look forward to working with her."
Steinbock is a native of Lubbock, Texas.
