OXFORD, Miss. โ Mississippi State women's tennis dropped a 4-3 decision to No. 45 Ole Miss on Thursday evening in Oxford.

The Bulldogs came out strong in doubles play, securing the opening point behind wins on courts one and two. The No. 20 duo of Chiara Di Genova/ Charlotte Kempenaers-Pocz set the tone with a dominant 6-1 ranked victory over No. 9 Emily Welker/ Andrea Nova.

Athina Pitta/ Gianna Oboniye followed on court two, clinching the doubles point with a 6-3 win over Riley Crowder/ Alice Soulie.

Mississippi State continued to battle in singles, earning victories on courts two and six. Kempenaers-Pocz delivered a strong performance on court two, defeating Alice Soulie 6-2, 4-6, 6-0. Mia Robinson added another point for the Bulldogs with a comeback win on court six, topping Beatrice Stagno 1-6, 7-5, 6-4.
