Leigh Treloar assumed the assistant coaching duties for Mississippi State women's golf coach Ginger Brown-Lemm prior to the 2011-12 season after serving one year as a graduate assistant.
The former Lady Bulldog has played an integral role in MSU's recent success on the course. Under her tutelage, the program has managed to chisel 17 strokes off its tournament average over the previous two seasons. During that span, over 70 new entries have been made into the Maroon and White history books.
Phillips has also been a vital leader for the Maroon Tee Club, a fundraising organization for the golf program established by her and Brown-Lemm. In it's first two years of existence the group has grown exponentially, raising more than $45,000 to date. Through donations and two fundraising golf tournaments, the Maroon Tee Club and it's members have provided funding for a Mercedes Sprinter van as well as vital technology in the form of a Sam PuttLab; both are exclusive to the men's and women's golf programs at MSU.
During a five-year playing career at Mississippi State, Phillips saw action in 23 tournaments. The Meridian native showed a vigorous work ethic during her career, improving her stroke average and tournament scores each season. During her senior campaign, Phillips earned a spot in each of the nine tournaments the Lady Bulldogs participated.
While earning Magna Cum Laude honors at MSU, Phillips was named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team for the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons. She graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration with a minor in Public Relations in the spring of 2010. Phillips is currently working toward her Master's in Sports Administration.
In the spring of 2010, Phillips was named to the SEC Community Service Team for her involvement in the Starkville community and received the team's Newsome Award.
She served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for three years and was a member of the M-Club for four years, serving as the organizations secretary her senior year.
In Summer of 2015, she married Justin Treloar of Mantee, Miss.
