Former Mississippi State track and cross country standout, Ffion Price, has rejoined the program as volunteer assistant coach for the Bulldogs' cross country team.
Â
"She is a valuable asset, being an alumna of the Mississippi State track and cross country programs," head coach Chris Woods said. "She knows the standards we want to compete at and will assist the young men and women to achieve those standards and goals."
Â
Price, who ran for the Maroon and White from 2015-17, was a member of the 2017 distance medley relay that captured an SEC title. In the 2016 indoor season, she finished in the top 10 in all but one event, including two first-place finishes.Â
Â
The Wales native was named to the All-Region cross country team in 2016 after placing 15th at NCAA Regionals, helping MSU to its first regional title in program history.Â
Â
"I think this is a great opportunity for me to develop my coaching skills for my future goals of working for Welsh Athletics and Sport Wales," Price said. "Mississippi State has a great program, and I'm grateful they can still give me amazing opportunities even when I have finished competing for them."
Â
Price will continue working towards earning her doctorate in exercise science at MSU while serving as volunteer assistant coach.
