Parnov Matches Program Record On Day One Of SEC Championships

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Mississippi State track and field concluded the first day of the SEC Championships with two scoring performances.
Competition began in the heptathlon, with Sacha Rifflart making his SEC debut. He earned three personal bests across the first four events, ending the day in third place with 3,040 points. He will compete in the final three events throughout tomorrow, beginning with the 60m hurdles in the morning.
Alla Parnov scored the first points in the meet, with her sixth-place finish in the pole vault. Also making her SEC debut, Parnov jumped a season's best of 4.15m, tying the program record and earning three points for the women's squad.
The day concluded in the women's DMR, with the squad winning their section for an eighth overall finish. The relay, consisting of Gabrielle Boulay, De'Kayla Simpson, Mallory Streetman and Nelly Jemeli, ran 11:13.83, marking the fifth fastest time in program history.
Action will resume tomorrow morning with the women's weight throw, with running events kicking off later that afternoon.
