Robinson and Seye Prepare for The Blue Gray Tennis Classic
October 01, 2026 | Women's Tennis
Montgomery, Ala. – Mississippi State women's tennis continues its fall slate this weekend as Lauren Seye and Mia Robinson travel to Montgomery, Alabama, to compete in the Blue Gray Tennis Classic.
The three-day event will run at Lagoon Park Tennis Center. Mississippi State and West Alabama will combine to form a four-player team and open the tournament against Ole Miss at noon on Friday.
The tournament will feature a unique team format with four athletes competing for each team. Each match up consists of two doubles matches and four singles matches, with each individual match counting as one team point. Doubles will be played as a six-point set, while singles will be best two-of-three sets. If the team score remains tied following singles, each side will select one doubles team to compete in a 10-point tiebreaker to determine who advances.
Due to weather, Friday's action is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. CT. If weather and time permit, the tournament will also attempt to play Saturday's doubles matches Friday afternoon. Times and locations are subject to change.
Seye will make her first fall appearance for Maroon and White after joining Mississippi State from UCF. The sophomore from Drongen, Belgium, is one of 10 Bulldogs on the 2026-27 roster. Robinson, a sophomore from South Carolina, returns for her second season with State and is making her first appearance this fall.
Blue Gray marks Mississippi State's second event of the fall following the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, North Carolina. Following the weekend in Montgomery, the Bulldogs will travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for the ITA Regional Championships on Oct. 8-12.
