STARKVILLE – After a week away from action, Mississippi State women's basketball will hit the road to take on the 23rd-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. Tipoff for the contest is set for 2 p.m. on SEC Network+.

- Mississippi State picked up the highest-ranked win of the Purcell era when they took down seventh-ranked Kentucky in their last contest, 71-59.
- Kharyssa Richardson scored a career-high 23 in the contest on 9-13 shooting, alongside seven rebounds.
- Richardson went 6-6 in the second half against the Wildcats.
- Favour Nwaedozi earned her ninth double-double of the season with 10 points and 21 rebounds. It was just the third 20 rebound performance across the SEC and Nwaedozi's second of the year.
- Trayanna Crisp scored 16 points on 4-5 shooting from distance, which set a season-high of made threes.
- Madison Francis scored seven points, collected six rebounds and rejected six shots, marking her fourth game with six or more blocks, which leads the nation.
- Francis remains the SEC's block leader as a freshman at 3.1 per game. She is the only SEC freshman to average more than one block and is one of four players in the conference to average 2.0 or more.
- Chandler Prater is averaging 10.0 points and 6.3 rebounds, which are both single-season bests. She's also shooting season-bests of 46.5 percent from the field and and 41.3 percent from distance.
- State is looking for back-to-back victories over top-25 opponents with a win against Alabama, which would mark the first time State has done so since Feb. 2020.
- Alabama suffered their first home loss of the year after dropping their last contest to #20 Tennessee, 59-70
- Prior to the loss, Alabama was 14-0 at home this season.
- Jessica Timmons (15.8), Essence Cody (13.9) and Karly Weathers (10.0) lead the Crimson Tide of the season.
- Alabama has been without Cody since Jan. 8 due to a lower-body injury. Since then, Alabama has gone 1-2.
- Alabama leads the all-time series against State, 41-24, and has won the last two contests.
- The last ten meetings are split at five wins a piece.
