
Bulldogs Drop Contest Late To No. 23 Alabama

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State women's basketball dropped Sunday's contest to the No. 23 Alabama Crimson Tide, 85-78.
Sunday's affair was a back and forth contest that saw the lead change hands 18 times and saw 10 different tied scores. Ultimately, the Crimson Tide would pull away from the Bulldogs in the latter part of the game, as they regained the lead with four minutes and the contest and pull away.
Favour Nwaedozi led the Bulldog offense for the seventh time this season, as she collected 19 points on 6-11 shooting. Nwaedozi picked up seven rebounds in the contest and only missed one of her free throw attempts, finishing the contest 7-8 from the charity stripe.
Madison Francis added 16 points to the Bulldog cause alongside a team-leading eight rebounds. Francis also finished the contest with a team-leading and season-high seven steals, becoming the first Bulldog to collect seven or more in a single game this year.
Jaylah Lampley provided 14 points off the bench for the Bulldogs. She shot 67 percent from the floor, including a 50 percent clip from distance. She added four rebounds to the State total. Trayanna Crisp went a perfect 6-6 from the charity stripe in an 11-point performance, her eighth game in double figures this year.
The Bulldogs will be back in action when they travel to Knoxville to take on the 17th-ranked Tennessee Lady Volunteers. Tipoff for the contest is set for 5:30 p.m. on SEC Network+.
