Mississippi State has produced 52 players in the professional ranks this season, including 13 at the MLB level.

Three of those former Diamond Dogs are taking part in this year's MLB Postseason. First baseman Nathaniel Lowe and the Boston Red Sox are set to meet their arch nemesis, the New York Yankees in the American League Wild Card Series.

While Lowe is in the field, he will be just a few feet away from former MSU standout Travis Chapman, who is the Yankees first base coach. The best of three AL Wild Card Series between Boston and New York will be Tuesday through Thursday at 5:08 p.m. on ESPN.

Brandon Woodruff helped the Milwaukee Brewers to the best record in baseball in 2025 as well as the National League Central Division crown. The Brewers receive a first-round bye and await the wild card winner between the Cubs and Padres in the NL Division Series, which gets underway on Oct. 4.
