Siary Named Golden Spikes Player Of The Week
May 13, 2025 | Baseball
STARKVILLE – The awards continue to roll in for Mississippi State's Evan Siary following his 15-strikeout performance against Ole Miss this past Friday.
One day after being tabbed the SEC Pitcher of the Week, Siary was selected as the Golden Spikes Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Siary posted career-highs in strikeouts, innings (eight) and total pitches (98) and kept the Rebels out of the run column during his time on the mound in the second game of a doubleheader. Prior to that outing, the junior right-hander hadn't struck out more than six in his previous 36 appearances as a Bulldog.
Siary's strikeout total was the most of any pitcher in Southeastern Conference play this season and tied LSU's Anthony Eyanson's performance against North Alabama on March 8 for the most by any SEC hurler in 2025.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder from Columbus improved to 2-1 on the mound and lowered his ERA to 4.06 on the year. In 13 appearances and eight starts this spring, Siary has fanned 57 and walked only 13 through 44 1/3 innings of work while limiting opposing hitters to a .225 batting average.
