
State Returns Home For Three Matches

STARKVILLE - Mississippi State women's tennis returns home for what will be a busy weekend for the Bulldogs. State will host three matches on the weekend, highlighted by a pair of SEC contests against Ole Miss and LSU.
The 57th ranked Bulldogs will host No. 54 Ole Miss (8-4, 1-2 SEC) on Friday at 4 p.m. before a doubleheader on Sunday that will see State battle No. 8 LSU (12-1, 3-0 SEC) at noon and Eastern Kentucky (6-9) at 4 p.m.

• MSU has won 82 of its last 84 non-conference home matches since Feb. 27, 2013.
• The Bulldogs are 18-1 in non-conference home matches under Chris Hooshyar.
• Women's tennis posted a 3.58 grade point average as a team during the fall semester. It was the second-highest GPA of any women's team at MSU during the fall.
• Gianna Oboniye, Jayna Clemens and Alessia Tagliente each earned their first SEC singles victories of the season against Missouri
• Oboniye picked up her first SEC singles and doubles victories of her career against Missouri and improved to 6-1 in singles dual match play.
• Clemens boasts a 9-1 mark in singles dual match play.
• Tagliente has posted a 7-2 record in singles dual match play.
• Oboniye and Athina Pitta have won seven of their eight matches to begin dual match play.
• The Bulldogs signed five-star prospect Mia Robinson out of Spartanburg, South Carolina. Robinson is the top-ranked recruit in the state of South Carolina and the No. 14 prospect in the country. She is set to join the team in the fall.
