Bulldogs Open SEC Tournament Against Missouri Tigers

STARKVILLE – The Mississippi State Bulldogs travel to Greenville, South Carolina for the SEC Tournament as the 10 seed and will take on the 15-seeded Missouri Tigers. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT on the SEC Network.

NOTES:
- Mississippi State closed out the regular season in the win column, earning a 73-66 victory over Auburn.
- Eniya Russell led the Bulldog offense off of the bench, earning 19 points on 7-12 shooting, along with six rebounds. It was the 20th double-figure game of her career.
- Jerkaila Jordan and Chandler Prater followed, with 17 and 12 points respectively. The duo both knocked down six free throws. Jordan collected three assists and two steals, while Prater had four rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks.
- Debreasha Powe continued her hot shooting as of late, knocking down 3 three-pointers, the fourth straight game with 3 or more makes
- The Bulldogs have excelled on the glass this season, outrebounding their opponents by 8.0 rebounds per game, which is the fourth best mark in the SEC and 16th best nationally. The bring in 41.0 per game, the 19th most in the country and fourth most in the conference.
- State's bench play has been excelling at scoring as of late, as they now rank fifth in the conference with 22.0 bench points per game.
- The Bulldogs rank 31st in the nation and 5th in the Southeastern Conference with a 45.9 field goal percentage on the season.
- Missouri and Mississippi State will be matching up for 18th time in history and the third time in SEC Tournament history.
- State leads the all-time series 11-6 and has won the two SEC Tournament contests between the two.
- The Tigers and the Bulldogs met up on January 27, where Missouri earned the victory at the buzzer.
- In that contest, Jerkaila Jordan became the first SEC player to score 40 or more points in conference play, as she finished with 40 points, eight rebounds and two steals.
- The Bulldogs were without their second point guard, Destiney McPhaul, in the contest due to illness. Denim DeShields manned the one and scored 12 points along with four assists.
