
State Falls To No. 8 LSU In Series Finale

Mississippi State tallied eight hits in the Saturday series finale. Nolan Stevens (2-for-4) and Dylan Cupp (2-for-5) led the offense. Each had a pair of hits including a double apiece. Cupp drove in three runs and Stevens had two RBIs for MSU.
Karson Ligon started on the mound for State and surrendered six runs in 2/3 innings. Ben Davis had a career night punching out six in 3 1/3 innings of relief work. Nate Williams tossed 1 2/3 innings and struck out three. Luke Dotson and Mikhai Grant each punched out a Tiger.
On Deck: Mississippi State heads to Memphis for a midweek matchup at 6 p.m. Tuesday at FedEx Park. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
Game Notes:
- Hunter Hines' solo homer in the top of the second was the 60th of his career. Hines is now one shy of tying Will Clark (1983-85) for No. 2 all-time at MSU and seven short of the school record set by Rafael Palmeiro (1983-85).
- Cupp's three RBIs are the most he has had in a single game in SEC play and matched his career high set against Evansville on March 10, 2024.
- Davis struck out six to set a new career-high.
