No. 12 Women’s Golf Set For Chevron Collegiate

STARKVILLE – The No. 12 Mississippi State women's golf team head to Humble, Texas to compete in the Chevron Collegiate, hosted by the University of Houston. The Bulldogs will begin their day at 8 a.m. CT.
The Chevron Collegiate will be played at the Golf Club of Houston. The par-72 course spans 6,203 yards. All six Bulldogs will compete in the event with five in the lineup and one playing individually. The tournament will span two days, with the teams playing round one and two tomorrow.
Avery Weed will top the Bulldog lineup. The sophomore is shooting a 71.33 average in her second season as a Bulldog. On the season, she is 10-under versus par.
Izzy Pellot will shoot second. In her last tournament at the PDI Intercollegiate, she finished tied for third, the best finish of her career. She shot 9-under par on the tournament, which tied her career-best against par.
Chiara Horder sits in the middle of the Bulldog lineup. She shot her best score as a Bulldog her last time out, as she finished 3-under par. It marked her best finish since the 2023 NCAA Pullman Regional.
Ana Pina Ortega will take the fourth spot in State's lineup. Like Pellot, she had a career-best tournament at the PDI Intercollegiate. Pina Ortega finished 7-under par on the tournament, including a career low 18-hole score of 67 (-5) in the final round.
Surapa Janthamunee will round out the five-person lineup. SJ finished two-under at the PDI Intercollegiate, which was her first under-par finish of the season and her first since her 10th place finish in last seasons NCAA Bermuda Run Regional.
Samantha Whateley will be competing individually in Humble. The sophomore shot her lowest round of the season in the second day of the PDI Intercollegiate after finishing the round 3-under. The 69 was the second time she carded a round in the 60 of her career.
The Chevron Collegiate will be a two-day tournament, with the second round kicking off as soon as the first round concludes tomorrow. Live scoring for the tournament will be available at scoreboard.clippd.com.
