Bulldogs and Gators Set For Sunday Matchup

STARKVILLE – After a thrilling double overtime victory on Thursday against Vanderbilt, the Mississippi State Bulldogs are set to remain on the road on Sunday, as they travel to Gainesville, Florida to take on the Gators. Tipoff for the contest is set for 1 p.m. CT on SECN+.

- Mississippi State was victorious last time out against Vanderbilt, picking up a 85-77 victory in double overtime.
- The victory marked Sam Purcell's 63rd victory and 22nd conference win, which gives him the most wins of any coach in program history throughout their first three seasons.
- Madina Okot and Jerkaila Jordan led the Bulldog offense with 21 points a piece.
- Along with Okot's offense, she collected 23 rebounds, four steals, three assists and two blocks. She became the first D1 player this season to collect 23 rebounds in a single game.
- Quanirah Montague gathered her second career double-double and first of the season in just 19 minutes against the Commodores. She finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
- Eight of Okot's and Montague's rebounds all came on the offensive glass, leading State to 26 offensive rebounds, their highest single game total this season, and 65 total rebounds in the contest.
- Chandler Prater finished with 11 points and tied her season-high of nine rebounds.
- On the season, Okot is second in the nation and leads the conference with a 68.0 field goal percentage. She is third in the conference with 9.7 rebounds per game.
- In her last five, Okot is averaging 12.2 points, 12.4 rebounds, 1.4 blocks and 1.2 steals.
- Jordan is averaging 18.8 points per game in her last five.
- Debreasha Powe is one of six players in the conference to shoot above 40% from distance on the season.
- Mississippi State and Florida will face off for the 56th time in history on Sunday. The Bulldogs lead the series 28-27.
- State has won eight of the last 10 matchups between the two teams. Under Purcell, the Bulldogs are 2-0 against Florida in Gainesville.
