November 20, 2025 | Volleyball
STARKVILLE – Sophomore defensive specialist McKenna Yates was named to the SEC Community Service Team, announced by the conference office this morning.
Yates, a native of Ocala, Florida, has been a fixture for State both on the court and in the community.
During her two years in Starkville, she contributed to departmental efforts, including local youth outreach through the TK Martin Center and the Henderson Ward School. She has also participated in trick-or-treating events with other MSU athletic teams and contributed to the department's Thanksgiving food drive.
Yates has been the starting libero for State throughout her sophomore season. She currently ranks third in the conference in digs per set and fourth in total digs. Yates is also tied for the second-fastest athlete in program history to reach 500 digs.
Yates has picked up 359 digs over 87 sets played and has started in 24 out of 25 matches this season. She has also picked up 67 assists and 11 service aces.
Yates, alongside the rest of the Bulldogs, will kick off the 2025 Allstate SEC Volleyball against Vanderbilt tomorrow evening in Savannah, Georgia.
