November 19, 2025 | Volleyball
STARKVILLE – Lindsey Mangelson, outside hitter for Mississippi State volleyball, was named to the All-SEC Second and Freshman Teams, as announced by the SEC this morning.
"I'm so proud of Lindsey and the freshman season she has put together," said head coach Julie Darty Dennis. "Lindsey comes in every single day to work hard and everyone knows she is here to compete and win. I love the fire she plays with, and I'm so excited for her future here in StarkVegas! We're excited for Lindsey and excited to head to Savannah to compete in the SEC Volleyball Tournament. Hail State!"
Mangelson has been a standout for both the program, conference and nationally in her freshman season. A native of Fishers, Indiana, Mangelson has been a fixture for State on the court in the 2025 season.
Leading the team in points scored, points per set, kills, kills per set and total attack attempts, Mangelson has been an offensive machine in her first collegiate volleyball campaign.
Named SEC Freshman of the Week twice this season, she currently ranks in the top five in attacks per set, points per set and total attacks. She is the top freshman in attacks per set, kills per set, points, points per set, total attacks and total kills in the conference.
On a national scale, Mangelson is the top freshman in attacks per set and points per set in the NCAA currently and has consistently been one of the top freshmen in the categories throughout the season.
In her freshman season, Mangelson has cemented herself as one of the best offensive freshmen in program history. She holds the fourth spot on the program's freshmen record list in kills and the fifth spot in attack attempts.
Mangelson has earned nine double-doubles in her freshman season, the most recent against Vanderbilt in the final home match of the season.
Mangelson, alongside the rest of the Bulldogs, is set to rematch the Vanderbilt Commodores this Friday for the first round of the 2025 Allstate SEC Volleyball Tournament.
