State Collects Eight Wins in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Mississippi State women's tennis collected eight wins at the Samford Fall Invitational.

Over the weekend, Alessia Tagliente, Athina Pitta, Chiara Di Genova, and Emma Cohen traveled to Birmingham to compete in the Samford Round Robin #2.

All four bulldogs earned a singles win against UAB on the opening day of the tournament.

On day two, Di Genova and Tagliente collected their first doubles victory as a pair this fall, defeating Memphis' Emma Dvorackova and Rebecca Frant 6-0 on the second day of the tournament.

Tagliente, Pitta, and Di Genova each added a second singles victory of the weekend with wins over Samford.
