Bulldogs Come Up Short Against Georgia

ATHENS, Ga. – Mississippi State volleyball battled hard against Georgia but ultimately fell short in five sets.
The Bulldogs rallied hard after winning the first set, then subsequently dropping the second and third. The team battled back in the fourth set to force a fifth, but came up short in the final set,15-13 in favor of Georgia.
The Bulldogs move to 14-4 over the season and 4-4 in conference play.
Lindsey Mangelson put on a show in the match, picking up 24 kills for her second-highest career total. She also picked up 17 digs in the game for her eighth double-double of the season.
Bernardita Aguilar picked up 15 kills in the match for a new career high. Mele Corral-Blagojevich followed her in total kills with 14 over five sets played.
McKenna Yates led in digs with 19 in the match, followed by Mangelson with 17.
Cayley Hanson earned a career high of 63 digs in the match over five sets played. She also picked up two service aces, seven digs and four blocks.
Noella Obi led in blocks with nine total, three of those being solo blocks, for a new career high.
Ava Anderson picked up two service aces in the match, the first two of her collegiate career.
The Bulldogs will return to action this weekend, taking on No. 3 Kentucky and No. 17 Tennessee at home.
