Bulldogs Shut Down South Carolina In Straight Sets

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Mississippi State volleyball took home the win over South Carolina in straight sets this evening.
State moves to 14-3 over the season and 4-3 in conference play. The team is on its best conference-opening streak since 2022 and extends its win streak over South Carolina to two.
The Bulldogs dominated throughout the match, with three players earning over 10 kills and points in the match.
Lindsey Mangelson led in kills, picking up 15 on 38 attempts for a .342 hitting percentage. Bernardita Aguilar and Noella Obi tied for 10 in the match, with Obi earning a blistering .467 hitting percentage on 15 attempts.
Aguilar also picked up the sole double-double for the Bulldogs with her kill totals, while also earning 11 digs, tying for her career best.
The Bulldogs were led in digs by McKenna Yates, earning 21 over three sets played, just shy of a season's best.
Gha'Naye Whitfield-Moss earned three solo blocks in the match for a new season's best.
Mary Neal picked up two service aces in this match, tying for a season's best and bringing her season total to five.
State earned a .305 hitting percentage in the match, the highest since September against Mercer, where they earned a .320.
The Bulldogs will return to action against Georgia on Sunday, October 19, in Athens. The match will be available to stream on SEC Network+.
