Bulldogs Fall To Missouri Tigers

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Mississippi State Bulldogs fell to the Missouri Tigers at the buzzer, 78-77.
The Bulldogs outperformed the Tigers in points in the paint (32-26), on second chance points (15-13) and on the fast break (13-6), but were unable to secure the victory. The Tigers held the lead for only 5:36 but secured the victory off a Grace Slaughter jumper at the buzzer.
Jerkaila Jordan had a career performance against the Tigers. The graduate finished with a career-high 40 points, eight rebounds and two steals. She knocked down five threes on 55.6 percent shooting behind the arc and knocked down nine free throws. She is the first SEC player to score 40 or more in conference play and the second SEC player to do such the entire season.
Denim DeShields tallied 12 points, marking her second straight game in double-figures and third of the season. Madina Okot finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds, which was her 7th double-double of the season.
The Bulldogs will be back in action this coming Sunday as they travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to take on the No. 4/5 LSU Tigers. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. on the SEC Network.
