CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The Mississippi State Bulldogs defeated the St. John's Red Storm 5-2 in extra innings in the second game of the NCAA Charlottesville Regional. Dakota Jordan came up to the plate in the bottom of the tenth of a tie game and hit a three-run home run, leading the Dawgs to a victory.

Khal Stephen drew the start on the mound and tied his career high in innings pitched. In eight innings of work, he only gave up seven hits, two earned runs, and no walks while striking out ten batters. Tyler Davis closed the game and earned his sixth win after giving up one hit and picking up one strikeout.

Logan Kohler went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs, which came from his two-run home run in the second inning. Jordan's lone hit of the night was the biggest for the Dawgs as he blasted a three-run home run in the bottom of the tenth to win the game for the Diamond Dawgs. David Mershon went 1-for-3 with two walks, and Aaron Downs went 2-for-4 on the night.

Mississippi State faces number one seed Virginia next in the Charlottesville Regional. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
