
Logan In Third At SEC Championship, Three Strokes Off Lead

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – For the second straight day, No. 38 Mississippi State was led by Hunter Logan at the SEC Men's Golf Championship. Logan shot a 3-under 67 in the second round to climb into third place, just three strokes back of the individual lead.Â
Logan started the day by going 1-under through nine holes, but turned on the jets at the turn. Logan went bogey-free on the last 14 holes of the day, including shooting 2-under on the back nine. He now stands at 5-under through two rounds.Â
The Steens, Mississippi, natiave has carded 19 par or better rounds this season, with 13 of those rounds coming in the 60s. Both of those marks lead the team. He has shot under par in five different rounds in his SEC Championship career, and this ties his best career round at the event.Â
Alejandro Fierro and Josep Serra joined Logan in shooting strong back nines, as they both went 1-under. Fierro went bogey-free over his last 10 holes and shot a birdie on Hole No. 1, while Serra notched three birdies of his own on the day. Â
Garrett Endicott had a successful front nine holes that saw him shoot 2-under and card four birdies. He would falter on the back nine, but still rose six spots on the leaderboard with his even par round. Â
Elsewhere for the Bulldogs, Pedro Cruz Silva substituted in for Harrison Davis, and completed his third career SEC Championship round. The Bulldogs rose one spot as a team to 11th place. MSU is 9-over par and 12 strokes back from the match play cut line. Â
