State Set To Host No. 34 LSU On Sunday

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State will close out the weekend with another ranked opponent as the Bulldogs are set to host No. 34 LSU on Sunday at noon at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre.
Chris Hooshyar's Bulldogs boast an 8-2 record at home this season but are coming off a 4-0 loss to 13th-ranked Texas A&M inside the Rula Tennis Pavilion on Friday. MSU is 9-5 overall and 0-2 in Southeastern Conference play.
Graduate Alexandra Mikhailuk leads the Bulldogs with a dozen singles wins this season, including a 9-2 mark this spring. Mikhailuk has 66 singles victories over the course of her career and needs just one more to tie MSU Hall of Famer and current Northwestern head coach Claire Pollard (1986-89) for 10th on the school's all-time list in that category.
Freshman Jayna Clemens is also having a stellar spring, having won six of her last seven singles decisions.
Dharani Niroshan and Alessia Tagliente have been the Bulldogs' top doubles tandem, posting a 10-4 record together.
LSU enters Sunday's matchup at 9-4 overall and 1-2 in league action. The Tigers are winless on the road this year and are coming off a 4-2 loss at Ole Miss on Friday.
