Kids Coach - Nolan Busby

Kid Coach is a partnership between Children's of Mississippi and the Mississippi State Bulldogs to salute pediatric patients. Their inspirational stories remind us just how truly courageous these young people are.

This week's Children's of Mississippi Kid Coach is Nolan Busby of Oak Grove, Louisiana.

Nolan had the scare of his young life when he was just seven years old. In January of 2022, Nolan's leg got caught in a PTO auger, a tractor device that drills holes in the ground. He was air-lifted to Children's of Mississippi, where he had emergency surgery to save his leg.

Nolan would eventually need three surgeries and a skin graft. The surgeries were difficult and painful, but Nolan and his family never gave up. Through months of physical therapy, Nolan slowly regained strength in his injured leg.

Now, Nolan walks and plays like any other nine-year old. His favorite things to do are play baseball and basketball and ride his go-cart.
