Di Genova, Rizzolo Reach Doubles Quarterfinals

AUBURN, Ala. – Mississippi State's Chiara Di Genova and Maria Rizzolo are moving on to the quarterfinal round in doubles thanks to their victory on Day 3 of the ITA Southern Regional Championships on Saturday.
The Bulldog duo captured their second-consecutive victory in the tournament taking down Tulane's Campbell Rucci and Leigh Van Zyl 8-4 during the second round of doubles play. Di Genova and Rizzolo will face Ole Miss' 84th-ranked tandem of Ludmila Kareisova and Anaelle Leclerq-Ficher on Sunday at 9 a.m.
Rizzolo also secured a singles victory on Saturday by defeating Samford's Sara Erenda 6-4, 6-1 in the singles consolation round. The MSU senior will take on Auburn's Ava Esposito Cogan on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
Gianna Obinoye and Jayna Clemens will also be in singles action in consolation matches on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Obinoye squares off against UAB's Enya Ratkic while Clemens takes the court against the Blazers' Gresi Bajri.
