
Soccer kicks off athletics year with home exhibition match on Monday

STARKVILLE – Soccer fans are in for an exciting start to the 2023 season as the Mississippi State soccer team prepares to take the field for its lone home exhibition match against Kennesaw State.

The Bulldogs will face off against the Owls on Aug. 7 at 6:30 p.m. CT, showcasing their skills and determination in a match that promises to set the stage for a remarkable season ahead. Admission into all MSU soccer matches is free.

The exhibition match against Kennesaw State serves as a prelude to what promises to be an action-packed season for Mississippi State soccer. State will have one more road exhibition before opening its 2023 campaign in Phoenix and Tempe, Ariz., with contests against Grand Canyon University (Aug. 17) and Arizona State (Aug. 20).

The Bulldogs are coming off a 12-6-4 record that included a trip to the NCAA Tournament. During their tournament run, State defeated New Mexico State 2-1 on Nov. 11 for their first tournament victory in program history.
