Mississippi State will now continue postseason action and look ahead to NCAA Indoor Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Both Peyton Bair and Tony Jones made appearances on the podium as the duo medaled for Mississippi State on the final day of the SEC Indoor Championships in Fayetteville. Overall, Mississippi State broke five school records over the course of two days at the SEC Indoor Championships.

Mississippi State will continue postseason action and look ahead to NCAA Indoor Championships with five Bulldogs and the 4x400m relay team now in possession of top-20 national times/marks. Mississippi State's top 20 national performers include Cameron Crump (No. 1 - Long Jump), Navasky Anderson (No. 5 - 800m), Rosealee Cooper (No. 9 - 60m Hurdles), Tony Jones (No. 9 - High Jump), Peyton Bair (No. 20 - Heptathlon) and the men's 4x400m relay team (No. 20).

On the men's side, Tony Jones scored six points for the Bulldogs following his bronze-medal performance in the high jump, which saw him post a personal-best mark of 2.21m (7-3) in the event.

In the heptathlon, MSU freshman Peyton Bair (5,773 points) closed out the SEC Indoor Championships by capturing a bronze medal while breaking his own school record in the process. With his third-place finish, Bair claimed six team points for the Bulldogs on the final day of the SEC Indoor Championships. Over the course of the competition, Bair posted personal-best performances in all seven of the events held on Friday and Saturday.

Both Jhordyn Stallworth and Tafada Wright posted new personal-best marks in the women's shot put on Saturday, while Stallworth's throw of 15.78m (51-9.25) set a new indoor school record for the Bulldogs.

State's 4x400m relay crew (Anthony Brodie, Lee Eppie, Doval Simmonds, Sema'J Daniels) claimed five points for the Bulldogs to close out the SEC Indoor Championships with a combined time of 3:05.86 to finish in fourth place.

The MSU men's program finished with 31 points, while the women's team ended with 10 points.

The 2023 NCAA Indoor Championships are set for March 10-11 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
